| The
weather turns colder, and window shopping continues |
|
Over the last 4 days the weather has continued to be blustery at
times, and the anticipated colder temperatures have arrived.
Today saw a high of 3.2°C, with a low of just 0.3°C overnight.
Snow is possibly forecast over the next 48 hours.
With the temperatures dropping,
interest in the box will probably also fall.
Having said that though,
there have been a few window shoppers, but no one has popped inside
for a better look.
20th January saw four visits
by Blue Tits ...
... And one visit from what looked like
a Great Tit:
21st January
saw five more visits, and most of them were quite vocal. The chap below seemed
in quite a good mood, but once it had poked its head through and
turned towards the glass, it immediately retreated, sounding out
what could be taken as an alarm call. Did it see itself in glass
panel?
See
and hear the chirpy Blue Tit here, along with a quick retreat and
alarm call (right at the end).
As the weather started to turn colder yesterday,
no one visited at all. However today has seen two brief visits.
Now that we are back from our long weekend (having just left the
infra red light on inside the box), we'll switch the main lights
on tomorrow and see what happens. If the snow does arrive, it may
be a few days until we see any more interest ...
